T.J.Thomson & Son Ltd.

Established in 1871 as a Steel merchant and operating from an office in the commercial centre of Middlesbrough, T J Thomson & Son Ltd was bought by H E I Turner in 1928. The Company moved to its own 36 acre site in Stockton in 1932.

 

Accredited Processed Metals Ltd.

In 1977 a new company was established to undertake non-ferrous processing. This company, Accredited Processed Metals Ltd, owned by third generation Turners, also started life in Middlesbrough at a site now occupied by Middlesbrough Football Club's ground the Riverside Stadium, but relocated to its own site next to T J Thomson in Stockton in 1981.

The new site utilised part of the Head Wrightson's Stockton Steel Foundry warehouse, but has since been almost completely re-clad and modified to suit its new use as a 25,500 square foot metal processing and storage facility.

Today the company has grown into an international trading company specialising in the buying and selling of all grades of non-ferrous metal scrap including copper, brass, aluminium, zinc, stainless steel, nickel, nickel alloys, mixed metals, skimmings, drosses, ashes and residues. The company is a regular importer and exporter of these materials as well as serving the North East buying from local businesses and the general public.
